Io avevo sentito questa notizia qualche giorno fa, ma non avevo seguito gli sviluppi… #Meta aveva annunciato di voler creare dei profili di gente inesistente, grazie alle IA, sulle sue piattaforme, per aumentare il coinvolgimento degli utenti… BEH, a quanto pare questi esistevano già da un annetto prima, perché la gente li ha trovati e — almeno su Instagram e Threads, dove non ci sono i vecchi — si è incazzata, quindi per ora l’azienda ha levato tutto. L’internet è già bello che morto, lasciate ogni speranza voi che navigate. Tutto in nome del profitto, dei numeri, per fare bella figura davanti agli investitori, si manda a fanculo lo scopo fondante dei social network di connettere le persone con le altre, connettendole invece con dei #bot.

I heard this news some days ago, but didn’t follow the developments… Meta had announced they wanted to create profiles of inexistent people, with generative #AI, on its platform, to boost user engagement… WELL, as it seems those have existed since at least a year prior, because people found them and — at least on Instagram and Threads, where the geriatrics don’t stay — got furious, so for now the company removed everything. Internet is already well and dead, leave aside every hope you who browse. All in the name of profit, of numbers, to make a good impression with investors, to hell they send the founding goal of social networks to connect people with each other, connecting them with bots instead.
